I bought two new pans at the gold show this spring and had a very hard time getting them seasoned. Maybe a new mold release agent was used. Scrub it until it looks old and water does not bead up on it. Another tip, when panning don't have lotions or sun screen on your hands otherwise the gold will float out of the pan. Scott L.

Pretty great set. I don't find myself using the smallest pan because it's really tiny, the shovel is really durable even against craggy bedrock, it still has the original shape after some 60 plus hours of use, the snuffer bottle seal kinda leaks so it spits your gold out which isn't good. the magnetic pickup took broke because the steel cap was held on with electric tape (really guys?).
